Our mystery readers read the delightful picture book 'There's a Hippopotamus On Our Roof Eating Cake'' by Hazel Edwards today. This classic story has one of the largest imaginary friends ever and it explores imagination, childhood experiences, family life and rules.
Since cooking cupcakes is a favourite activity enjoyed by our classmate and her grandparents, and today's story also featured cake, our visitors kindly made some cupcakes and Rosella enjoyed a scrumptious morning tea!
Our classmate's grandparents also read the book 'I'm the Best' by Lucy Cousins, a story that reminds us about not boasting and bragging to our friends because we all have special qualities. They kindly donated this book to our school, so Rosella will keep it as part of their class library for this year and then later for our school library.
Thanks so much to our grandparents who visited Rosella today and made it such a special morning. There was a very proud granddaughter in Rosella today! We wonder who will visit us next term after the holiday break?
