Rosella thoroughly enjoyed the 'Walk On The Wild Side' Walkathon this morning. They were ready for action dressed in their 'wild' clothes and sports uniform. They kept smiling lap after lap and felt very proud of themselves and gave a big cheer when they had finished. Thanks to all of our parents who helped out by stamping the children's cards after each lap. It's now time to say thanks to all sponsors, collect all sponsorship money and return it to school as soon as possible. Thanks so much everyone for your support of this fundraiser. Rosella thoroughly enjoyed their ‘I Wonder Who Wednesday’ morning today after clues were revealed to the class yesterday about this week's mystery reader. Who was our special visitor going to be this week? Our mystery reader entertained Rosella today with the hilarious book "Do Not Open This Book'' by Andy Lee. Lots of giggles and of course Rosella begged to keep turning the page even though they were told not to!! Thanks so much to one of our mums who volunteered to be Rosella's mystery reader today. There was a very proud son in Rosella today! We wonder who will visit us next week? Rosella learnt about another insect this week - the honey bee and they created their own bees in L3 group time. They are now all buzzing around their very own bee hive in Rosella's classroom.
Congratulations to our students who received home reading awards this week. A fabulous effort as always!
Some of our Rosella children were able to attend the Disco this afternoon and they had a great time. The Dance2bfit ladies kept the music and games going to keep everyone moving! A big thanks also to all the mums and dads who helped out at the disco, it was very much appreciated. Congratulations to our Rosella Achievement Award recipients announced at today's K-6 Assembly. We are very proud of you!
Wow! It's been six days since we planted our bean seeds and we have carefully watered them each day and popped them out in the sun to help them grow. Some plants have grown a definite stem and leaves now, while some are still slowly putting out a shoot. We looked at them closely today and recorded the progress of their growth in our Bean Plant Diary. Here we are holding our bean plants. The page we completed in our Bean Plant Diary today. A close-up of two of our bean plants. These beanstalks will help Jack reach the castle!
Rosella thoroughly enjoyed their ‘I Wonder Who Wednesday’ morning today after clues were revealed to the class yesterday about this week's mystery reader. Who was our special visitor going to be this week? Our mystery reader entertained Rosella today with the rollicking rhyming book 'Cowzat' by Bruce Atherton. Lots of laughs were had as Rosella discovered the truth about how the game of cricket was invented, and in Australia too!!!!!! The children also loved the zany illustrations in this book drawn by Ben Redlich. Thanks so much to one of our dads who volunteered to be Rosella's mystery reader today. There was a very proud son in Rosella today! We wonder who will visit us next week?
Rosella set off on an important mission today to find some minibeasts at school! We visited the quiet area, the kitchen garden and also the top oval to see how many different minibeasts we could spot. We ended up finding lots and recorded them all on our special sheet. Who knew there were so many minibeasts to be found!
Rosella Minibeast Spotting from Sue Dowling on Vimeo. Today we recorded some amazing facts about ants to go with our ant display. Did you know ants can live for 30 years? That they are very strong for their size? Did you know Queen ants can have millions of babies? Please pop into our classroom to find out some more amazing facts about ants.
We were very excited to plant our bean seeds today and we are looking forward to seeing them grow.
