Congratulations to our student who reached 50 nights of home reading this week. Well done! | Well done also to our students who reached 75 nights of home reading. A great effort! |

Our school reached the target of 3500 Friendlies this term, so as a reward we had 'Crazy Day' today. Crazy socks, crazy hair and crazy children!! Lots of fun!!
Rosella made some delicious monster pies today as a treat for their mini monsters. Our chefs combined lots of yummy ingredients! Take a look by clicking on the cover of their book. Would you like to try one?

Rosella tied in first place with Kookaburra for the 'bags in the hoop' sporting challenge last Tuesday. We received this class award at today's K-6 Assembly.
Congratulations to our Rosella Principal's Award recipients for this term. We are very proud of you and hope you enjoyed your special afternoon tea at recess today with Mr Connor. The awards were presented to our children at today's K-6 Assembly.
Today Rosella reflected on all that they have learnt this term while working on their science unit 'On The Move'. Their assessment included what they had enjoyed the most this term and they recorded this in their science journals. They also recorded their voices using the Easi-Speak microphone.
Rosella enjoyed their very last Dance2bfit session today. We revisited favourite dances and played a game at the end of the lesson. Rosella have thoroughly enjoyed Dance2bfit this term and we thank our parents for their support of this very worthwhile program.
Today Rosella wrote about the fabulous monster party they enjoyed last Friday with all their Kinder friends. What did they do at the party? What did they eat? What games did they play? What did they love the most? All these questions and more will be answered by reading their online book. Please click on the cover to read!
How lovely to see nearly all of our children from Rosella at the disco yesterday afternoon. They were all dressed to impress and they certainly had all the dance moves! The smiles from all the children were priceless. It was a treat to see you enjoying the music and dancing with your friends. Belinda from Dance2bfit kept the music and games going and a drink and snack break proved popular too. A big thanks also to all the mums and dads who helped out at the disco, it was very much appreciated.
Here we are!
Exciting news with our first students to reach 100 nights of home reading this week. How fantastic is this! We are so proud of all our Rosella children for the effort they put into their home reading each week and thanks to our parents for their fabulous support.
The big day arrived and Rosella were ready for action! With their contract around their neck, there was no time to waste in preparing for the Monster Party! Playdough monsters to create, monster hats to make, monster maths, drawing and games to enjoy as well. Food wise Rosella had to make a monster face sandwich, a meanie biscuit, collect some green slime with worms, gather monster rocks and monster mud to wash it all down. We had some quiet movie time to ensure everyone had completed their tasks and then it was time to head back to the Kinder room to enjoy the monster feast!
A massive thanks to Esther's, Duncan's, Demi's, Darcy's, Nate's, Lachlan's, Sienna's and Curtly's mum who were all kept super busy helping us with our monster tasks! Here are all our 'monster goodies' ready for the party.
Photo time before we could start eating. (We were very patient!!)
The Rosella monsters! Beautifully behaved monsters! We were so proud of you.
Enjoying the monster feast!!
Here we are with all our friends at the Monster Party.

All of Kindergarten joined together for our Dance2bfit lesson today. We learnt two new dances and loved dancing with all of our Kinder friends.
Dance2bfit June 19, 2017 from Sue Dowling on Vimeo. These were the names of our two experiments in science today. Firstly, Rosella investigated how far different sized objects would roll with all other variables the same. We used ball bearings - large and small. We had to predict which one would roll the furthest. We used a ramp and we made it a fair test with all balls let go from the top of the ramp. After much discussion some of us the thought the larger ball would roll further, some thought the smaller one, some thought they would roll the same distance. It was time to test our predictions. We worked in teams to carry out our experiment a number of times to ensure a valid result. This is what we discovered - the larger ball rolled further every time, for every team. Our second experiment involved investigating whether a ball bearing would roll further over a smooth or bumpy surface. After much discussion everyone predicted that the ball bearing would roll further over a smooth surface. We thought that a bumpy surface would slow it down and it wouldn't roll as far. Again we made it a fair test, this time by using the same sized ball bearing and letting it go at the top of our ramp. The only change was the surface of the ramp, rolling down while smooth and then rolling down again with a bumpy surface created with bubble wrap. Our prediction was confirmed - the ball rolled further down the smooth surface. We had the same result after trying this a number of times.
We think it will be fun to be scientists and experiment at home and roll things on different surfaces around the house! Congratulations to our Rosella Achievement Award recipients at this week's K-6 Assembly. We are very proud of you!
Please ask our clever monster clocks! Rosella made their monster clocks today and gave them a voice by using the Chatterpix iPad app. We also completed some other time activities in maths today.
